  By-Laws
   
 

Administration of the Co-op is governed by its By-Laws.  These by-laws specify the definition of membership as well as membership roles and responsibilities (eg. the Board of Directors).

   
  Rules and Regulations
   
 

The rules and regulations document specifies policies of operation of the Co-op such as admission requirements, health regulations, fee refunds etc..

   
   
  Behaviour Management Policy
   
 

A positive learning environment is the objective in all facets of the care and guidance of the children of the Nursery School including those time in which difficult situations require disciplinary measures.  All staff, supply staff, placement students, program volunteers and duty parents are required by law to comply with our program's policies and procedures on behaviour management as set out by the Day Nurseries Act. 

   
  Playground Policy
   
 

All nursery school staff, including volunteers and students, must ensure that children are provided with a safe outdoor environment that promotes creative and constructive play. The staff ratio must be maintained at all times in the playground area. The safety of the nursery school outdoor play area is defined in conformance with CSA standard CSA Z614-98.

  Member Responsibilities and Duties
   
  By-Law VII
 

  1. Upcoming and current members must be the enrolled child’s parents or legal guardian.
  2. Current member participation in the school program will be fixed according to the number of current members. Current members with more than one child in the school will be asked to participate more frequently than those with a single attendant child.
  3. All members will comply with the applicable Ministry requirements and school Rules and Regulations (which includes a security check).
  4. All members shall be required to serve on the Board or as a committee chair or on two committees.
  5. All current members with children enrolled in the three year old program are required to attend the school on their assigned duty days throughout the year. Members who cannot attend the school on the duty day specified may exercise a buy-out option by contacting a substitute from a list provided by the school and paying the required fee for replacement services. Failure to do this will result in a fine to be levied by the Board.
  6. All current members with children enrolled in the KinderClass program are required to volunteer for various activities throughout the year for their child’s class.
  7. Current members who cannot regularly attend to the above duties must provide a regular substitute (subject to the security check and other applicable requirements) or purchase replacement services.
  8. Members are not expected to participate in fundraising activities throughout the year. A fundraising buyout is included in the cost of tuition.
  9. Members are not expected to participate in a cleaning night. A buyout fee for cleaning night duties is included in the cost of tuition.
  10. Failure of members to comply with the responsibilities and duties as described above may, at the discretion of the Executive, result in the dismissal of the member.
